Though the CDD owns this preserve land, the preserve is managed and controlled by the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD). The CDD and it’s residents must adhere to the strict guidelines that are set by SJRWMD. If a tree or other vegetation grows from the preserve into any resident’s yard, the resident is rightfully allowed to remove the portion of the tree or vegetation that is on the resident’s property up to the property line. No resident is to cross into the preserve and cut or remove the vegetation. If the tree is cut to the property line, the tree stump or remainder of the tree must be left untouched in the preserve.
